At Circle of Fifths, we are honored to be guided by a remarkable Advisory Council of educators, scholars, and musicians whose insight provide strategic direction and helps shape our programs with integrity, inclusivity, and musical excellence.

Dr. Robert Duke

Title: Director, Center for Music Learning, University of Texas at Austin’s Butler School of Music
Specialization: Music learning, performance psychology, and the cognitive foundations of music education
Role at CoF: Dr. Duke brings a wealth of expertise in how people learn—especially through music. His research in performance psychology and educational neuroscience helps guide the structure of our teaching approaches, ensuring they are developmentally grounded, evidence-based, and accessible to learners of all abilities. He advises on individualized learning pathways that empower each student to grow musically and personally.

Dr. Andrew Dell’Antonio

Title: Professor of Musicology & Director of Undergraduate Studies, Butler School of Music, University of Texas at Austin
Specialization: Musicology, inclusive curriculum design, and equity in music education
Role at CoF: Dr. Dell’Antonio is instrumental in advancing access and equity at Circle of Fifths. He consults on building culturally responsive and inclusive learning environments that embrace diverse learners. He is also exploring creative, alternative certification pathways for students to demonstrate musical mastery outside traditional academic degree programs, helping ensure our musicians can be recognized and celebrated for their work.

Dr. Laurie Scott

Title: Associate Professor of Music and Human Learning, University of Texas at Austin; affiliated with the Moritz Center for Societal Impact
Specialization: Music education, pedagogy, and teaching students with disabilities
Role at CoF: Dr. Scott is a passionate advocate for accessible music learning. She provides guidance on adapting instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, ensuring that our ensembles and instructional programs are welcoming, inclusive, and grounded in best practices for students with disabilities. Her work supports both the pedagogical and community-building goals of our programs.
